Autumn Bonfires

Fire plant, chameleon
Salamander roots, licking up
Burning in a purifying fire
Cleaning the old skin, dusting off old boots
Roasting in a midnight oil
A twilight toil before its rest
The candle burning low
At last goes through such beautiful hues
Phoenix shrub and burning bush
In less than a month
It will be skeletal branches and ashes
Ready to rise again in Spring
